Schultz-Metzger’s Reinforced Anti-Skaarj Prototype was initially designed as a support unit to turn the tides of the Human / Skaarj war a century ago to assist ground troops in the deployment and protection of defensive outposts during a counterstroke against the Skaarj home planet once earth had been secured. Unfortunately, the Skaarj forces were much too powerful for any forces to leave the planet until the mothership was destroyed, and after their retreat funds were redirected out of the project to aid in Earth’s reconstruction. It wasn’t until Schultz-Metzger’s sales increased tenfold due to the tournament’s increased liking for the Minigun that they began to fund the RASP project once more. Fast and maneuverable over rugged terrain with its powerful mounted thrusters, RASP is a powerful support unit. With its dual chainguns, it makes short work of both light-armored ground and air vehicles at any range, and grinds men into meat in seconds.

Trident Defense Technologies, during the later stages of the tournament, got a proposal by the Liandri Corporation to make “War machines” specifically for a brand-new team-based play. Trident accepted the contract which entitled them to dividends based on televised ratings, as well as a percentage of the profits gained from each individual kill with their contraption. Because of this initiative the designers of the Flak Cannon and Rocket Launcher signed on immediately to design a mech which would be the most profitable to the company. After several weeks of planning, they decided on putting together something which death would be a sure thing, no matter what it hit. Heavily armored and mounted on treads, the Vanguard-class is a fast and powerful mech with two giant 3-ton arms to smash through anything in its way, other mechs included. In addition, it has room to seat a gunner which mans its shoulder-mounted swarm-pack launcher, which tosses clusters of rockets towards the target before they separate and home in. The drawbacks of the Vanguard are its severe lack of mobility being mounted on treads, as well as it’s incapability to attack anything at a distance which isn’t flying. However, due to its heavy armor plating, it can still get in several good blows before someone manages to destroy it.

The Izanagi Corporation’s development of weapon technologies has been a great boost towards giving the Tournament international recognition in its early stages, and continues to set an example with the release of the Okami. This agile light-armor mech is the product of several years’ worth of biomechanical technology. Instead of designing a more conventional model, the Izanagi spent billions of dollars developing synthetic muscles, nano-adrenal bots, and a series of operating systems to maximize its versatility in combat. The Okami OS 228 comes standard with a 14-foot laser-cut Tritechion blade, and an array of the new Razorjack 3.0 disks, taking full advantage of the OS’s weapon guidance systems. Despite all its advantages in combat, synthetic muscles are easily damaged so pilots are warned to stay clear of enemy fire.
